Nick Allen Performer - Surprise Singers

Nick is one of our most experienced singing waiters, but he still treats each performance with the same dedication, effort and energy as his first time! He studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and while he is very much a legitimate opera singer, his training allows him to instantly switch to pop and musical theatre – just wait until you hear him sing ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by Queen! If you’re looking for a soaring performance and top notes which go on for days, Nick is your guy!

Nick made his operatic debut in 2011 in Canada, Nick has worked with many of the UK’s leading opera companies including Opera North, Longborough Festival Opera and Opera Holland Park, as well as being the soloist for numerous performances with the National Symphony Orchestra. He played the lead roles of Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance and Nanki-Poo in The Mikado in the Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company’s UK National tour, and has performed internationally with his solo show ‘Tenor Most Wanted!’ which has taken him as far away as Antarctica!

His ability to improvise led to him becoming a company member of ‘Impropera’ – improvised opera! He now spends much of his time working as a session musician for vocal recordings, including for plays in the West End and recently for the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony in Birmingham. With his energy and quick-witted humour, Nick is sure to get everyone who can stand to rise to their feet, everyone who can clap to raise their hands and simply EVERYONE to sing along with their loudest voice, whether they think they can sing or not!
