HOW IT WORKS

Congratulations! You’re planning an event, and you’ve decided that you need some excellent entertainment. Look no further! Our Surprise-Singers have been adding the WOW factor and fun to weddings and corporate events since 2015 which (humbly) makes us quite the experts!

We like to make sure each event is as individual as you and your guests are. We are not suggesting that we (or you) take complete control, we like to work with you and guide through the process of choosing what we call the ‘reveal’ (the way we set up the surprise) and the song choices.

THE SONGS

We perform tried and tested songs that we know will thrill and engage you guests. We have the best performers in the UK and each of our performers have different song repertoires and vocal ranges/styles. Therefore, we will firstly ask if you have a special request for a genre of music, be it Opera, Musical Theatre, Swing, Pop Classics.

However, if you just want us to choose the perfect well-known songs, to get the most impact, interaction, your guests singing and or dancing along – most importantly having a great time – we can accommodate.

If you have a song request that is special to you, your family or colleague, it is important to let us know this at the earliest of stages of the booking enquiry. How Many Surprise-Singers?

Two or three Surprise-Singers work well for weddings or corporate events. Having more than one performer allows us to ‘bounce off’ each other with witty ‘repartee’ to entertain your guests and build a great rapport with you and your guests.  It also means we can perform sublime harmonies and dynamic performances with different vocal styles.

A solo performer works incredibly well, especially if you are planning on having a more intimate event with around 30 guests.

What are the choice of Characters?

(Although we’re open to suggestions) – Waiter/Waitress, Bar Staff, Guest, Event Manager, Maître D, Emergency Services, (Firemen/Ambulance etc), Chef.

THE BIG REVEAL

The decision about what we call the ‘reveal’ will be discussed with you and we will share some of our previous reveals! Or if you want something totally original, we are open to suggestions!

Each event is different, and each client has ideas about how our Surprise-Singers shows can work! We like to work closely with you, to design a scenario that includes your ideas, after all, you know your guests better than we do!

Once the surprise has taken place and we are in full swing you may like us to interact with a special guest. Perhaps you’d like us to bring a little more attention to your manager – especially if he is a ‘good sport’, or you’d like one of our handsome male singers to serenade ‘Auntie Mary at your wedding’…. whatever you have in mind, we will do our best to accommodate.

The Venue

The selected lead performer will coordinate with the venue’s event coordinator to finalise the ‘costume’ and the roles our performers will play on the day. Venues often appreciate the additional assistance as our performers diligently engage with guests during the event, enhancing the visual appeal and surprise factor. We have experience performing at various venues ranging from hotels and barns to marquees and grand halls, and even outdoors in fields!

Payment

You can pay both the deposit and the balance using online banking. It is a legal requirement that all our client’s fees remain in our business client account (which is similar to a solicitor’s escrow account). The deposit will be due as soon as possible after the booking and the balance is usually one month before the event.

The Three-week call

Once the contract is signed and the deposit is received, your allocated lead performer will get in touch with you (usually 3 weeks before the event) to confirm the final details. If you want this to be sooner, we are happy to accommodate.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Every event is different, we are proud to provide a bespoke to you surprise-singers service. However, we are consistent and reliable with how the arrangements are made. The lead performer for your booking will be in touch with you to confirm the finer details of the performance 'reveal' and song choices. We will also be in contact with the coordinator at the venue to confirm our 'duties' and our performers uniform, so we blend in seamlessly with their serving staff.
We arrive well in advance of your guests to set up our sound system and do our soundcheck to ensure none of the guests see us beforehand. We will then disappear and return ready and dressed in the surprise theme chosen. If we’re surprise singing waiters, we shall act as the waiters of the venue, assisting with the service including topping up the wine and water and serving the starters and main course. At the previously agreed time in service, we will perform our surprise reveal.

HOW LONG IS THE SURPRISE SHOW?

We act as waiters for service which is usually around 60 mins. Our surprise-singers waiters reveal performance is approximately 30-35 minutes in length, (about 7 to 8 songs with guest interactions during and in-between songs). 

WHERE ARE YOU BASED AND DO YOU TRAVEL?

Our head office is in Birmingham; however, we have a national team of experienced performers. No wedding or corporate event is too far for us. We have previously performed at events in Cornwall and Scotland!

HOW DO I BOOK SURPRISE SINGING WAITERS NEAR ME?

Well that is a very good question! Our surprise-singers head office is near Birmingham and not only do we have an extensive team of excellent performers that are based all over the UK, we also have a huge team of performers who are based in the Midlands. While our performers are of the highest quality, we are able to offer very competitive rates due us saving on the extra travel costs that our Southern based competitors cannot! Another excellent reason to book with us!

Our most popular form of surprise is our singing waiters, but we can also perform as singing chefs, singing guests and much more. We are open to your suggestions!! 

CAN I SEE YOU IN ACTION BEFORE BOOKING?

Please check out our videos from previous events. Understandably due to the nature of the events we perform at and them being private parties or weddings, we are unable to invite guests. 

OTHER THAN FROM THE SURPRISE ACT, WHAT ELSE CAN YOU OFFER ME?

When it comes to parties, corporate events and weddings we can provide you with the entire daytime and evening's entertainment. We can give you the surprise element during the meal, but then can also perform a live singing evening show, plus a DJ, giving your guests complete entertainment for the evening. CAN I BOOK JUST THE SURPRISE SINGING WAITERS?

Yes! You can book as much or as little as you want. The choice is yours. For example, if you’ve already got a DJ booked, you can still book us for a live singing show in the evening or indeed any other entertainment service we offer. 

DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT?

Yes. We provide all of the speakers and microphones, we’re completely self-contained. We have high-end quality PA sound systems and we use quality bespoke backing tracks. For many of our corporate clients who have already booked in an AV hire company, there is a preference for us to work with them, which we are more than happy to do.

 

WHAT PERFORMERS DO YOU USE?

What makes our Surprise-Singers stand out and above all the others is that all our performers are of a very high standard. Our performers boast extensive experience, having graced the stage on cruise ships and West End shows, excelled as highly trained opera singers, and showcased their prowess as outstanding pop or swing vocalists. In addition to their musical talents, they shine as brilliant actors. Beyond their artistic excellence, our performers embody reliability, personability, diligence, and unwavering professionalism. Upon learning your event's theme, hearing your ideas and discovering your preferred music genre, we will assign the ideal performers to elevate your event or wedding experience. 

DO YOU HAVE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE?

Yes. All of our team have public liability insurance of up to 20 million pounds and can provide you with a copy of the certificate should the venue require this.

HOW MANY PERFORMERS CAN I BOOK?

We suggest at least two, however it depends on how many guests you have and the theme you are envisaging, we can discuss and advise you accordingly.

After engaging in a consultation with you to understand your demographic or theme, we can confidently identify the perfect performers from our roster for your wedding or party.

HOW DO I BOOK?

This is a very simple process:

  • Get in touch with us on line and let us know the details (Please click on this link).
  • We are happy to discuss your requirements and ideas either through email or over the phone on  0121 250 5089
  • Once you are satisfied with the details discussed and agreed upon, encompassing all finer points for your approval, we will send your contract using a digital signature system. Our contracts are sent digitally, making the process more efficient and environmentally friendly compared to traditional printing, signing, and mailing methods. You also have the option to download and print a copy for your records.
  • At this time, we will also issue an invoice for the 15% deposit which secures your booking. 
  • The remaining balance is due 30 days before the event. For your convenience, you can settle the balance earlier. All funds received will be securely held in our non-interest accruing client business account, as mandated by legal requirements for entertainment service providers. These funds will be retained in the business client account until after the event concludes.
ARE YOU COVID-19 SECURE?
  • We adhere to all the latest government advice regarding live entertainment, no act or entertainer supplied by us will breach these guidelines.
  • Current government guidelines regarding social distancing are to be adhered to by all event attendees throughout the duration of the event.
  • Should there be another government-enforced lockdown, any agreed contracts become null and void with no liability attached to the hirer, entertainer or contracting agent.
